Czech star Vaclav Drobny is enjoying his trial spell with Aston Villa and hopes to earn a permanent move to Villa Park.
The Strasbourg stopper is currently featuring prominently in Villa's pre-season trial of Scandinavia.
Villa boss David O'Leary has admitted he likes Drobny, but he cannot afford to buy him and so would only be able to bring him in on loan.
Drobny is hopeful he will be with Villa next season.
"This is the biggest chance in my football career and I will do everything to ensure I get a contract and make sure I play for Aston Villa," Drobny said.
"I hope I will be able to play here in the coming season, but not only this one season.
"I trained before in France and I'm very tired of it, but this is a new start for me and I will do everything to make a good feeling for David O'Leary.
"I'm ready to show David O'Leary, what I can do and how much I want to play here. It's a big chance for me."
J'ai pu aller sur le SO (il faut s'inscrire... ) et voilà ce qu'on y trouve:
Gaffer Keen On Drobny Swoop
David O'Leary looks set to pursue his interest in on-trial defender Vaclav Drobny and will run the rule over him for one last time tomorrow night.
The Czech international has played all three games so far out here in Sweden and will also play a part against Orgryte in the tour finale.
O'Leary reflected: “Drobny's with us for another few days and we'll assess it at the end. But things are encouraging. I think we need a fourth centre-half and hopefully we can strike a deal on a loan.
“We've sold Rob Edwards for £150,000, so hopefully that money can go towards maybe getting him on loan – if it works out and we'll have another look at him on Tuesday night.
“We've got two fine centre-halves and if they're fit, they'll be on their game. We're trying to bring Ridgewell on and if we can bring another young kid as well, which we need, it suits us.â€
