Zokora admits Strasbourg dream
Friday, 23 January 2004
Genk's Didier Zokora has admitted that he is desperate for a return to France with Strasbourg.
In an outspoken article, Zokora declared to France Football that he was intent on rejoining his former club.
The talented Ivory Coast international has declared that he has spoken to officials at Strasbourg and he is confident that a move can be concluded.
''I have nothing against Genk but I would like to leave,'' he admitted.
''I have enjoyed extraordinary moments here, but I want to rejoin Strasbourg.
''I have already had several phone calls with Marc Keller and he wants me.
''If Genk would sell me now, with time left on my contract, then they could make a lot of money from me.''
If a move to Strasbourg fails to materialize, Zokora could well attract interest from several other French clubs.
''Last summer Auxerre were interested and Guy Roux called me several times,'' Zokora continued.
''I was flattered and delighted and now other top sides have also asked for information.''
